Accomplishments

Orange Park Acres was established in 1928. Since then, volunteers have served and protected this unique community. The OPA Board and dedicated volunteers have proudly continued that tradition. Through teamwork and partnership, the Board has been involved in, and/or accomplished, the following:

EVENTS
Fourth of July Parade
Annual Fall Barbeque
Denim & Diamonds Dinner Dance
Twenty years of successful Horse Shows and Gymkhanas
Christmas Caroling & Parade

OPA TRAIL SYSTEM
Built, maintains and insures the 20 mile OPA trail system
Beautification of Orange Park Boulevard
Coordinated the replacement of the Handy Creek Bridge
Drainage improvements on Rattlesnake Trail
Installed new vinyl fencing on horse trails
Added monument signs
Helped secure the Cannon staging area
Monthly trail committee meetings

TRAFFIC ISSUES
Halted the increased speed limit on Orange Park Blvd.
No parking enforcement and addition of new stop signs on Meads
Continued work with authorities on Meads "S" curve to find a safer solution to dangerous curve
Installation (Summer 2016) of digital speed sign on Orange Park Blvd. south of Hillside Drive

LAND USE
The preservation of the 509-acre Barham Ranch
Helped saved Orange County Fairgrounds
Successful negotiations with Holy Sepulcher Cemetery
New median on Santiago Canyon Road
Support the Ridgeline referendum
Exposed and monitors water pollution in Santiago Creek

WATER AND STORM DRAINS
Partnered with County on storm drain upgrades in community
Merger of OPA Mutual Water Company with Irvine Ranch Water District
Improved sewer connections and simplification of the permit process
Significant fire protection improvement in 5 areas
